As you finish your nursing education, you're one step closer to the career of your dreams. Graduation marks the end of a milestone for many of you, however, your education and training is only beginning as you step into the position of a registered nurse. ProHealth Care provides the orientation and training for graduate nurses to be successful in their new role by offering a nurse residency program, and even an Associate's to Bachelor's completion program. Below we have provided more information on each of these as well as information on how to obtain your temporary RN license.
ProHealth Care offers a Nurse Residency program. The program builds on new nurses’ undergraduate education and clinical competencies to foster smooth transition into professional practice. Through innovative, interactive learning strategies, the program is designed to assist new graduates in developing confidence and the competency to deliver quality, evidence-based care. This program is a unique opportunity for new graduates to join other graduate nurses to learn and grow as professionals. The Nurse Residency program is in partnership with Marquette University and the established Wisconsin Nurse Residency Program. Nurse Residents are paired with a clinical coach for mentoring and attend learning sessions to build nurse residents’ personal competence and their ability to function as a member of the team, within the organization, and as a professional.

ProHealth Care offers formal educational opportunities for our nurses. In addition to supporting further education through our tuition reimbursement program, ProHealth Care also offers an on-site Bachelor's degree completion program for nurses.
In partnership with Concordia University, ProHealth Care offers an on-site Bachelor's degree completion program for Registered Nurses who hold an Associate's degree in nursing. Classes are held at a ProHealth Care entity - either at our hospitals in Waukesha or Oconomowoc, or at our corporate offices in Pewaukee. ProHealth Care tuition assistance can be used toward the costs of tuition and books. Our nurses join this program as part of a cohort - meaning that they go through the completion program together as a group - allowing great relationships to be built with faculty and within the group.
The program includes both classroom work and two clinical assignments. One clinical assignment focuses on a community health project while the second focuses on a project within the unit the nurse works on.
