Sleep Tips for Women

Are you tired all the time? Can't fall asleep? Have problems staying awake during the day? If so, you may have a sleep disorder. Research shows that women are twice as likely as men to have difficulties falling asleep or staying asleep.

Many things can cause sleep disorders in women, including: Sleep Tips for Women

  • changes in hormonal levels (menstrual cycle, pregnancy, menopause)
  • stress
  • illness
  • lifestyle (being overweight, drinking too much caffeine, etc.)
  • sleep environment (noisy or uncomfortable surroundings)

All sleep disorders can affect your quality of life. But some are actually life threatening. Obstructive sleep apnea is a disorder where the airway is blocked and breathing stops. This increases your risk for heart disease and may even result in death.
